Singapore Idol – Wildcard Episode

Latest Update: This time round, the judge would pick 2 contestants for the next round while people’s votes would save 2 more contestants. Turned out that the judges picked Gayle (wasted all my votes!) and the people picked Jay. There are two more but not worth mentioning at the moment.

Last night, I landed 3 votes to Gayles and 2 votes to Jay. This morning, I pumped another 2 votes to Gayles just in case. As of today, 15 votes have been submited (S$9 damage so far).

On my way back home, the radio was playing Lindsay Lohan’s “Confession Of A Broken Heart”. Avoid at all cost. The lyrics and the terrible melody of “Daughter to Father … I Love You” still rang inside my head right now. Very agonising.

Now, back to the Singapore Idol, happy that the judges picked Gayle and Jay into the Wildcard episode of 7 resurrected contestants. I knew Jay has potential and he did shine. I sense that Gayle may have had a flu and did not perform well. Gayle sort of reminded me of Katherine Mcphee, one of the American Idol contestants. Gayle tends to crack under pressure I guess but she has the X-factor.

Well, time to send tons of SMS’s to save someone’s music career.

Please stop your craze! Your few SMSes will not be enough to save some Idol-wannabe’s career. You’re just making the Telcos laugh all the way to the bank! Her rendition of Kelly Clarkson’s Beautiful Disaster was a pretty big disaster in itself, and that guy… crying on national TV… be a man and join the army! That will toughen you up a bit and put some much-needed manliness into that pretty boy!

2 Types of Voters in General … Type 1 – Voters who cast votes based on the contesters’ performance on the very night. Type 2 – Voters who cast votes not necessary based entirely on the very night’s performance. But also take into account of the past performance and the future performance. Future as in looking at the potential of how much they will soar in days to come. I belong to type 2.

I was mistaken. Apparently, Jay has been to the Army and he is an officer! LOL that makes it worse – if the army cannot make a man out of him, nothing will! But seriously, save your money. If the person is like Katherine or Kelly Clarkson of the American Idol, then it is worth the money or trouble.

I know what you mean … but just that the “act” of vote casting make some people like me to have a feel of participating in the selection process – however minimum it seems to be. You know how much I love music and have been a song writer and singer. I don’t think my standard can be measured up to the US top 100 chart as yet. So I guess I can relate to how the locals are trying (at least they really stand up and try) to get somewhere. Doesn’t matter. Some could be an inspiration to others and that is how civilisation progress. I can understand why many people won’t even watch Singapore Idol as the standard is not up to par. I watch it from a different perspective based on my own standard.

You have my full support! Do what you think it’s right, especially for something which can be a source of power in another person’s future! Though the input should be minimal with a few votes, you can never imagine the final impact on one’s life. Taking out one penny from my bro’s pocket is not that easy… So, you can see how serious is my bro this time… hahaha.
